Enumerate consequential actions

List every action with an external effect: distributing an LP letter, writing to a system of record, contacting a borrower, or sharing confidential material. Bind an explicit approval requirement to each one in the workflow definition.

Separate a draft from an action

An agent can prepare a report or a proposed system update without holding authority to execute it. The review surface should present the exact artifact, the affected recipients or records, and the evidence supporting the change.

Scope authority to the task

Grant each agent only the tools and data its assigned workflow requires. Treat permissions as a property of the specific task, user, fund, and deal — enforced through least-privilege tool access — rather than a standing entitlement to act.

Preserve an immutable review record

Log the material presented, the approver, every edit made during review, and the final action in an append-only audit trail. When a workflow encounters an unresolved issue, escalate it to the accountable owner rather than proceeding.
