A. Clay Holder joined MAA in 2017, initially serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer with responsibility for required SEC filings, compliance with GAAP, financial statements and internal controls over financial statements, and accounts payable, among other accounting functions.
On April 1, 2024, Mr. Holder was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer with added responsibilities for financial planning, tax, REIT qualification, investor relations and capital markets. Prior to joining MAA, Mr. Holder spent seven years in multiple accounting and finance roles at AutoZone, Inc., and began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
