Robert J. Gutowski has served as MSCI's General Counsel since January 2020 and Head of Corporate Affairs since July 2024, overseeing the firm's legal, compliance, corporate affairs, government and regulatory affairs, corporate responsibility and internal audit functions.
He joined MSCI in 2002 and previously served as Deputy General Counsel and Head of Compliance (2010-2019) and Head of Internal Audit (2012-2019). Before MSCI he was an attorney in private practice at Rogers & Wells LLP and Clifford Chance LLP, and holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.
