He was Chief Investment Officer of Man Group plc (2017-2021), CEO of Man AHL (2013-2017) and CIO of Man Systematic Strategies (2010-2013), and earlier spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, including as MD and head of the Fundamental Strategy Group; he is a co-inventor of the VIX index. He holds a Master's in Natural Sciences and Economics from Cambridge and a Licence Speciale from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles.
