Before joining the Bank he worked as a consumer lender at Windsor Park Bank in San Antonio (1978-1984), a commercial lender at First National Bank in Kerrville and the Bank of Kerrville, and as President and a director of Texas Premier Bank (1990-1991). He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio.
