JB Straubel has been a Tesla director since 2023. As a co-founder and one of the key members of Tesla's leadership team for over a decade, he brings extensive operational experience and in-house knowledge of Tesla's technology, research and development and business management, along with expertise in cleantech and batteries.
He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Redwood Materials Inc. and co-founded and served as Tesla's Chief Technology Officer from May 2005 to July 2019. He holds a B.S. in Energy Systems Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University.
