ABB Ltd acquired Siemens low-voltage NEMA motor business, a transaction completed in May 2023, structured as all cash.

Siemens low-voltage NEMA motor business operates in Motion / NEMA industrial motors, is based in Guadalajara, Mexico, had revenue of about approximately $63 million (2021). ABB acquired Siemens' low-voltage NEMA motor business, which employs around 600 people, generated roughly $63 million of revenue in 2021, and runs manufacturing in Guadalajara, Mexico. Its horizontal and vertical induction severe-duty and general-purpose motors were re-branded as ABB and reintroduced during 2023.

The carve-out strengthened ABB's position as a leading NEMA industrial motor manufacturer in the roughly $2.7 billion North American NEMA motor market, adding an established customer base and operations team under the Motion business area's growth strategy.
