Affiliated Managers Group acquires Genesis Fund Managers

Affiliated Managers Group acquired Genesis Fund Managers, a transaction completed in June 2004, structured as cash (terms not disclosed). The deal was a Majority-stake investment.

Genesis Fund Managers operates in Emerging-markets equity, is based in London, UK / Guernsey / Chile. In June 2004 AMG acquired a majority equity interest in Genesis Fund Managers, LLP, an emerging-markets equity specialist managing roughly $10.8 billion with offices in London, Guernsey and Chile.

Consistent with AMG's partnership model, the Affiliate's management retains equity and operating autonomy while AMG provides permanent capital, global distribution and strategic resources.
