BIO-RAD LABORATORIES, INC. acquired Diagnostics businesses of Biotest AG for €45 million, a transaction completed in January 2010, structured as Cash purchase of certain diagnostics businesses (business/asset acquisition).

Diagnostics businesses of Biotest AG operates in Clinical Diagnostics, is based in Germany. Bio-Rad completed the purchase of certain in vitro diagnostics businesses of Biotest AG, a German company. The acquired operations span diagnostic products used in blood transfusion testing (immunohematology), transplantation, and infectious disease screening. The addition broadened Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics portfolio, strengthening its position in blood typing and transfusion medicine testing.

Expand Bio-Rad's clinical diagnostics presence in blood transfusion testing, transplantation, and infectious disease diagnostics, adding complementary immunohematology products to its portfolio.
