Block acquired Crew, a transaction announced in July 2021.

Crew operates in Square (Seller / Team Management), is based in United States. Square acquired Crew, a frontline employee platform used to consolidate and streamline the day-to-day operations of hourly workforces. The deal added a workplace messaging and communication tool to Square's existing Team Management labor tools, giving sellers an integrated way to message, schedule, track, and pay their team members. Square positioned the addition as a way to accelerate its labor-management roadmap and better serve larger, more complex sellers.

Unified team communication was a top feature request from Square sellers; Crew strengthened and scaled Square's labor-management tools and broadened its ecosystem of business solutions into a one-stop shop for messaging, scheduling, tracking, and paying employees.
