Javelin Semiconductor, Inc. operates in Wireless / semiconductor solutions (radio-frequency CMOS), is based in United States. Avago Technologies (the entity that later renamed itself Broadcom) acquired Javelin Semiconductor, a U.S.-based developer of mixed-signal complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) integrated circuits for wireless communications applications. The purchase was completed during the second quarter of Avago's 2013 fiscal year for approximately $37 million in cash.

The deal was intended to generate cost savings and to establish the foundation of Avago's radio-frequency CMOS design and development capability for its wireless target market, adding RF CMOS engineering talent, technical personnel and technology.
