CENTRAL GARDEN & PET CO acquires Dallas Manufacturing Company (National Consumers Outdoors Corp.)

CENTRAL GARDEN & PET CO acquired Dallas Manufacturing Company (National Consumers Outdoors Corp.) for $61 million, a transaction announced in December 2015, structured as Asset purchase (pet bedding business and certain assets).

Dallas Manufacturing Company (National Consumers Outdoors Corp.) operates in Pet, is based in United States. Central Garden & Pet agreed to purchase the pet bedding business and certain other assets of National Consumers Outdoors Corp., formerly known as Dallas Manufacturing Company (DMC), an industry-leading dog and cat bedding company. DMC's management team joined Central. Bedding was described as the fifth-largest category in dog and cat supplies at the time.

Fits Central's strategy of building a portfolio of growing businesses and categories, adding a leading position in the growing dog and cat bedding category as a complement to Central's broad pet products portfolio.
