HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC acquired Ultrak, Inc. (closed-circuit television / CCTV business) for $36 million, a transaction completed in December 2002, structured as Purchase of assets and certain liabilities of Ultrak's CCTV business (approved by Ultrak shareholders December 20, 2002; ~300 employees transferred; Honeywell licensed the Ultrak name).

Ultrak, Inc. (closed-circuit television / CCTV business) operates in Automation and Control Solutions — video/security (now Honeywell Building Technologies), is based in Lewisville, Texas, USA. Ultrak was a provider of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and video-surveillance equipment and systems. Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions purchased Ultrak's CCTV business — assets and certain liabilities spanning the United States, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom — with roughly 300 of Ultrak's employees joining Honeywell, which also licensed the Ultrak name. After the sale, Ultrak renamed itself American Building Control, Inc.

Expands Honeywell's security business with Ultrak's CCTV/video-surveillance product lines and international operations.
