IDEX Corporation acquires CVI Melles Griot (CVI)

IDEX Corporation acquired CVI Melles Griot (CVI) for approximately $400 million (cash), a transaction completed in June 2011, structured as all cash.

CVI Melles Griot (CVI) operates in Health & Science Technologies (Optics & Photonics platform), is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA (manufacturing on three continents), had revenue of about approximately $185 million annual revenue. Global leader in the design and manufacture of precision photonic solutions used in the Life Sciences, Research, Semiconductor, Security and Defense markets; products include specialty lasers and light sources, electro-optical components, opto-mechanical assemblies, aspheric lenses, laser mirrors, interference filters and polarizers. Acquired from Norwest Equity Partners.

Cornerstone to IDEX's rapidly expanding optics and photonics platform; a true leader in high precision optical devices combining leading-edge products, design and manufacturing capabilities and distribution channels.
