Microsoft Corporation acquires Apptimum Inc.

Microsoft Corporation acquired Apptimum Inc., a transaction announced in March 2006.

Apptimum Inc. operates in Windows Core Operating System Development. Apptimum (formerly Eisenworld Inc.) built products that automatically transfer users' applications and data to new computers, best known for the Alohabob PC Relocator line. Microsoft acquired it to simplify application migration for Windows customers and complement Windows Vista's transfer capabilities.

To simplify the application- and data-transfer process for Windows customers, complementing Windows Vista's built-in transfer capabilities and responding to customer and partner requests for easier migration tools; planned as an optional download for Windows Vista.
