Microsoft Corporation acquired Medstory Inc., a transaction announced in February 2007.

Medstory Inc. operates in Health Solutions Group, is based in Foster City, California. Medstory developed intelligent web-search technology built specifically for health information, delivering prequalified, organized content for consumers and health professionals. Microsoft acquired it to strengthen consumer health search and advance a broader consumer health strategy under its newly formed Health Solutions Group.

To strengthen Microsoft's consumer health search capabilities and demonstrate long-term commitment to a broader consumer health strategy, addressing the frustration of people who struggle to find relevant online health information.
