Microsoft Corporation acquired Multimap, a transaction announced in December 2007, structured as Wholly owned subsidiary.

Multimap operates in Virtual Earth / Search, Online Services Group, is based in United Kingdom. Multimap was one of the United Kingdom's largest online mapping services, offering consumer mapping and integrated business location solutions. Microsoft acquired it to strengthen its mapping and location platform and expand its search business, integrating the technology with Virtual Earth, Live Search, Windows Live, MSN, and its advertising platforms.

Enhance Microsoft's mapping and location platform and grow the search and platform businesses through integration across Virtual Earth, Live Search, Windows Live, MSN, and advertising.
