Microsoft Corporation acquires Navision

Microsoft Corporation acquired Navision for $1.3 billion, a transaction completed in July 2002, structured as combination.

Navision operates in Business apps, is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Navision was a global provider of integrated business software solutions. The stock-and-cash purchase offered shareholders 300 DKK per share, about $1.3 billion at announcement. Combining Navision with Microsoft Great Plains strengthened Microsoft's geographic and product coverage for small and midmarket business software.
