Parlano operates in Unified Communications Group, is based in Chicago, Illinois (with EMEA headquarters in London). Parlano developed MindAlign, a persistent enterprise group-chat application enabling topic-specific, multiparty instant-messaging discussions that persist over time, used across financial services, call centers and technology firms. Microsoft acquired it to fold group-chat capability into its unified communications platform (Office Communications Server and Office Communicator).
To integrate Parlano's persistent group-chat functionality into Microsoft's unified communications platform, delivering a more complete presence, instant messaging and group-chat solution for enterprise customers, particularly in financial services and other vertical markets.
