Microsoft Corporation acquires Revolution Analytics

Microsoft Corporation acquired Revolution Analytics, a transaction completed in April 2015.

Revolution Analytics operates in Data Group (SQL Server / Azure advanced analytics). Revolution Analytics was the leading commercial provider of software and services for R, the open-source language for statistical computing and predictive analytics. Microsoft acquired it to bring advanced analytics and data science to its data platform across on-premises, hybrid, and Azure environments and help close the data-science skills gap.

Add enterprise-grade R and advanced analytics to Microsoft's data platform so customers can build and deploy statistical models at scale.
