ShadowFactor Software Inc. operates in Consumer Windows Division / DirectX, is based in Canada. ShadowFactor, a Canadian developer, made BattleCom (Battlefield Communicator), technology that let players talk to one another by voice during multiplayer Internet gaming instead of typing. Microsoft acquired it, announcing the deal at the Meltdown 99 conference, and planned to incorporate BattleCom into DirectX 8.0.
Add BattleCom real-time voice communication for multiplayer gaming into Microsoft's DirectX multimedia technology.
