Microsoft Corporation acquired The MESA Group, a transaction announced in April 1998.

The MESA Group operates in Exchange Server (Applications and Tools Group), is based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The MESA Group built migration tools and services for moving Lotus Notes applications to Microsoft Exchange Server, including coexistence solutions and cc:Mail archive migration. Microsoft acquired the Boston firm to give customers a complete path for migrating Notes applications to Exchange as Exchange Server adoption accelerated.
