Microsoft Corporation acquired Visio Corporation for $1.5 billion, a transaction completed in January 2000, structured as all stock.

Visio Corporation operates in Productivity, is based in Seattle, Washington, USA. Visio was a maker of business and technical diagramming and visualization software. Microsoft folded it into its Business Productivity Group as the Visio Division, keeping the Seattle offices, with Visio shareholders receiving 0.45 Microsoft shares per Visio share.
