Xamarin operates in Developer tools, is based in San Francisco, California, USA. Microsoft agreed to acquire Xamarin, a cross-platform mobile app development company whose tooling lets developers write native iOS, Android and Windows apps in C# using .NET. At announcement Xamarin had more than 15,000 customers and over 1.3 million developers, and the two firms had already integrated Xamarin into Visual Studio, Azure and Office 365. Terms were not disclosed.
