OPEN TEXT CORP acquired Dell EMC Enterprise Content Division (Documentum) for U.S. $1.62 billion, a transaction completed in January 2017, structured as all cash. The deal was a Carve-out.

Dell EMC Enterprise Content Division (Documentum) operates in Enterprise Content Management, is based in United States (global operations). OpenText acquired Dell EMC's Enterprise Content Division (ECD), including the Documentum, InfoArchive, and LEAP product families. The deal brought 5,000 marquee customers, 2,000 employees and over 300 partners with deep industry focus in healthcare, life sciences, and public sector.

This acquisition further strengthens OpenText as a leader in Enterprise Information Management, enabling customers to capture their Digital future and transform into information-based businesses.
