REPUBLIC SERVICES, INC. acquired Rainbow Disposal Co., Inc., a transaction completed in October 2014, structured as Acquisition of Rainbow Disposal Co., Inc.'s business and facilities.

Rainbow Disposal Co., Inc. operates in Solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling, is based in Southern California (Orange County). Rainbow Disposal Co., Inc. was one of Southern California's largest independent solid waste companies, with hauling routes across Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Midway City, Westminster, Orange County, Newport Beach and Irvine, plus a recycling facility, a transfer station, a compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station and a CNG-powered fleet. Republic Services acquired the business and its facilities and folded it into a newly created business unit based at the Huntington Beach campus, retaining Rainbow's principals and its roughly 350 employees.

Expand Republic's Southern California footprint through a targeted, accretive acquisition, adding a strong local market position, long-term franchise agreements and enhanced recycling and waste-diversion capabilities to serve California's sustainability initiatives.
