Leila Alland, M.D.

Leila Alland, M.D., became an Abeona director on April 14, 2021 and chairs the Board's Science and Technology Committee while serving on the Compensation Committee. A pediatric hematologist-oncologist and physician-scientist, she has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 2001 and currently serves as Chief Development Advisor at GV20 Therapeutics. She previously served as Chief Medical Officer of PMV Pharmaceuticals (2019-2023), Affimed (2018-2019) and Tarveda Therapeutics (2016-2018), and held oncology leadership positions at AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Novartis and Schering-Plough. She earned her M.D. from New York University School of Medicine and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed a pediatrics residency at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at The New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
