Dr. Madhav Vasanthavada, Ph.D., MBA, became Abeona's Chief Commercial Officer and an executive officer in January 2026, having joined the Company in June 2022. Before Abeona he held commercial leadership roles at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and Celgene, where he led the marketing team in the global CAR T-cell therapy franchise to launch two autologous cell therapies, Breyanzi (liso-cel) and Abecma (ide-cel), in key worldwide markets. Earlier he held U.S. commercial roles at Bayer in marketing, market access and sales, ultimately as brand leader for Xofigo, and began his career as a scientist in Novartis R&D. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
