Mr. Vasos has served as Dollar General's Chief Executive Officer since October 2023, when he returned after previously serving as CEO from June 2015 to November 2022 and then as Senior Advisor until his retirement in April 2023. He has served on the Board since June 2015.
He joined Dollar General in December 2008 as Executive Vice President, Division President and Chief Merchandising Officer and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in November 2013. On March 20, 2026, the Board approved his succession by Jerry W. Fleeman effective January 1, 2027, after which he is expected to serve as Senior Advisor and remain a Board member.
