John T. O'Connor served as Goosehead's General Counsel from May 2022 and was appointed Corporate Secretary in 2023, responsible for all aspects of the Company's legal operations. On March 30, 2026, the Company announced he would be leaving Goosehead effective immediately.
Prior to joining Goosehead, he spent fifteen years in private practice, including more than a decade with the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, and most recently served as general counsel for an Austin-based real estate development company. While in private practice he served as outside counsel for Goosehead and worked as an advisor to the Company since 2019. He holds an undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University, a master's degree from Pepperdine University, and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University, where he served as President of the SMU Law Review Association.
