Alphabet acquires Mandiant

Alphabet acquired Mandiant for $5.4 billion, a transaction completed in September 2022, structured as all cash.

Mandiant operates in Cloud / Cybersecurity, is based in Reston, Virginia, USA. Mandiant was a well-known cybersecurity company specializing in threat intelligence, incident response and dynamic cyber defense. Google acquired the public company and folded it into Google Cloud, pairing Mandiant's frontline expertise with Google Cloud's existing security portfolio to build an end-to-end security-operations suite. Mandiant retained its brand under Google Cloud.

Google Cloud combined its security portfolio with Mandiant's threat intelligence and incident-response expertise to deliver comprehensive security operations, helping organizations detect and respond to threats.
