Stephen R. Quake, D.Phil.

Dr. Stephen R. Quake has served on AbCellera's Board of Directors since November 2025 and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He has been a professor at Stanford University since 2005, where he is the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of Applied Physics, and is a prolific inventor in DNA sequencing and microfluidic automation whose work contributed to non-invasive prenatal testing. He serves on the boards of Tachyon Therapeutics, IgGenix, Superfluid DX, ClearNote Health, Kanvas and Mirvie. He holds a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University and a D.Phil. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Oxford.
