AeroVironment, Inc. is an American defense technology company that designs and manufactures autonomous systems, loitering munitions, and counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS). Headquartered in Virginia, the company primarily serves the U.S. Department of Defense and allied international militaries. It is best known for its tactical drone systems, including the Switchblade, Raven, and Puma, which provide intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision strike capabilities.

The company has also retained all earnings for use in its business and does not anticipate paying cash dividends, and the terms of its Credit Agreement restrict its ability to pay dividends.

AeroVironment sells the majority of its products and services under contracts with the U.S. government, and states that a substantial majority of its revenue depends on the procurement, performance and payment under U.S. government contracts. In fiscal year ended April 30, 2026, approximately 25% of revenue came from the U.S. Army (including orders placed on behalf of other DoD organizations) and 47% from other U.S. government agencies and government subcontractors; sales to foreign customers (including foreign military sales through the U.S. DoD, commercial and consumer customers) were 28% of revenue. No individual contract accounted for more than 10% of funded backlog, and no individual foreign country accounted for more than 10% of total sales revenue, as of April 30, 2026.
